Imbolc Day Retreat

Imbolc marks the first cross quarter day of the year. It is the halfway point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. Imbolc is a festival of light, honouring the seeds beneath the soil, the life within not yet arrived, and the crossing point from rest into renewal. This potent time is perfect for cleansing and preparation, giving space to truly honour and welcome all that is growing within you. 

Join us this February 1st to explore the magic of this beautiful Sabbat, and to celebrate together with story, craft, and more.  

Your Day Retreat will include:

• An opening ceremony to invite the blessing of the Goddess Brigid at Imbolc, around our Imbolc altar. 

• A welcoming Circle to set an intention for your day, with the opportunity to share our knowledge and connections to Brigid and the land that is named for her. This will include a light seasonal snack and a warm beverage.

• Intention setting ritual with candle flames, honouring the growing light of nature and of self. 

• Creating a Brigid’s Cross from traditional materials, for your own Imbolc altar.

• Oracle cards to connect with the energy of this potent time.

• Drum journey to connect with the Goddess Brigid/Brigantia, and the land of the Brigantes

• Creating a Bridey Doll to honour all that is gestating within you, ready for birth in the spring.

• Creating a beeswax candle filled with magical intent

• Storytelling and poetry

• Plant based seasonal lunch (with optional dairy) included in your day, along with a selection of teas and coffee.

Our retreat venue is The Meeting Rooms on Heslington High Street, York. This former Wesleyan Chapel has a beautiful peaceful atmosphere, is fully accessible, and has a lovely garden space where we can gather around a fire. 

On street parking is available, but please consider lift sharing or public transport. 

Please note the two tier pricing for this retreat. If you are need to make use of the lower amount, for whatever reason, then please do. It is our pleasure as a circle to carry our sisters when we can. Use the discount code IMBOLC at checkout. If you would prefer to pay in instalments, please contact me to arrange this. If however you ARE able to pay the higher amount, you ensure that Serpent & Moon workshops and retreats remain as accessible as possible, for which we are very grateful.
